Divisibility rules
Help determine if one number is divisible by another without performing full division.
Divisibility by 2
The last digit of the number is an even number or 0.
Divisibility by 3
The sum of all the digits in the number can be divided by 3.
Divisibility by 4
The number formed by its last two digits can be divided by 4, or the number ends in two zeros.
Divisibility by 5
The last digit of the number is either 0 or 5.
Divisibility by 6
The number is divisible by both 2 and 3.
Divisibility by 8
The number formed from its last 3 digits can be divided by 8.
Divisibility by 9
The sum of all the digits in the number can be divided by 9.
Divisibility by 10
The last digit of the number is 0. TIP: If the number is divisible by 2 or 5, it is divisible by 10.
Divisibility by 11
The difference of the sums of all the digits in the odd and even positions can be divided by 11 or is 0.
Divisibility by 12
The number is divisible by both 4 and 3.
