what is citizenship?
It is a relationship that a person has with the country he or she is a member of

a feeling of security and support when there is a sense of inclusion, acceptance and identity

formal community groups that are affiliated with the government through the national council of social services, which provides some coordination and funding

they can share common spaces, practices and experiences which allows them to develop a sense of belonging and emotional attachment to the country.

how does having a sense of identity shape citizen’s understanding of citizenship?
these practices strengthen people’s sense of belonging to the country, resulting in them feeling proud. the bond and connections people feel towards fellow citizens can also motivate them to contribute to the country
what are shared values?
principles and beliefs that are embraced and seen as important by a group of people
what are some examples of shared values?
being thrifty, family as the basic unit of society, adapting through hard times
how does having shared values shape citizen’s understanding of citizenship?
shared values help citizens feel they share something in common with one another, feel a sense of connectedness with one another which strenthens their sense of identity and influences the way people behave as citizens and the actions they take

mr andy teo set up the Yemporary Academic Assistance during COVID -19 to connect students with volunteer tutors. He enlisted the help of tutors through social media to teach for free. In just a week, 250 volunteered to serve.
