Check the scene, then check the person
Step #2
Shout, Tap on the shoulder and Shout "Are you okay"? while checking for normal breathing for 5-10 seconds.

If the person does not respond and is not breathing normally, call 911

If unresponsive and not breathing, BEGIN chest compressions
Tips
Whenever possible, use disposable gloves when giving care.
Occasional gasps are not normal breathing.
Use speaker mode on your mobile phone to alert EMS while giving care.

Place the heel of one hand on the center of the chest

Place the heel of the other hand on top of the first hand, lacing your fingers together

Keep your arms straight position your shoulders directly over your hands

Push hard, push fast. Compress the chest at least 2 inches. Compress at least 100 - 120 times per minute. Let the chest completely rise before pushing down again.

Remove clothing from chest, wipe chest dry if needed.

Attach a pad to right upper chest, and one to the left lower side below the arm pit.

Voice prompts will say -- Analyzing Patient. Make sure no one is touching the patient--Say "CLEAR" in a loud and commanding voice.

Voice prompt - - No shock advised, continue compressions.

Voice prompt: Shock advised, Make sure no one is touching the patient, Say "CLEAR" in a loud and commanding voice, then push the shock button

Perform compressions and follow the Voice prompts
Normal Breathing is
Quiet, Regular, and Effortless
Do not stop compressions, except in one of these situations:
1. You notice obvious sign of life
2. Another responder arrives and takes over
3. You are alone and too tired to continue
4. An AED is ready to use
5. EMS personnel take over
6. The scene becomes unsafe
