When you are receiving prescriptions, inspect ships to ensure they match the details written on the purchase order. Check the following:

Name, Brand, Quantity, Dosage, Strength, National Drug Code (NDC) number

NDC Number

Identifying number given to each prescription medication before it is marketed that identifies the manufacture, medication, and package size.

First in, First out Method of Restocking

Arrange products so those with earlier expiration dates are dispensed first.

Lot numbers

Can be found near the expiration dates on prescription medications. This # marks the certain batch the medication belongs to made by the manufacturer.
Identifies the product in the event of a recall.
