ANOVA
This statistical method is used for comparing means between more than two groups.
Random and independent sampling
This assumption of ANOVA requires that observations must be chosen without bias from the population.
Sum of Squares Total (SST)
This is the total variability in the dataset. It is the sum of all squared deviations from the grand mean.
SS Between
This value measures how much group means deviate from the overall mean.
Degrees of Freedom
It refers to the number of values in the final calculation of a statistic that are free to vary.
Mean Squares
This is the average of the squared deviations from the group mean.
F-ratio
This value is used to compare variability between groups to variability within groups.
Continuous
In ANOVA, the dependent variable must be:
2-sample t-test
If a categorical variable has only two values, which test should be used instead of ANOVA?
Within Group Variation
This is the term for the subset of the total variability that measures how much individual values vary from their group mean.
