-exclusive club, only 300 members, gave celebs place to unwind

-in 20s, speakeasy

-colorful history = ghosts

-one of most common apparitions: man in his 30s dressed in high water pants & suspenders, smoking cigarette

-he looks like waiter on break

-appears to someone entering the theatre alone

-they are startled & apologize, he dematerializes

-fairly innocuous, as is the little girl who can be heard crying from time to time

-Elevator ghosts are not so gentle

-20 years ago, group of 4 actors heard cries coming from elevator

-sounded like 5 people, men and women, screaming for help because they were stuck

-actors went to help, one went to get a staff member & other 3 tried to pry open doors

-when doors were opened, nobody inside

-happened other times to other people

-until an employee was seriously injured

-he heard woman yelling that she was stuck

-opened doors, saw elevator was stuck between floors

-he saw woman inside and she yelled to pull her out

-he reached hand in, she grabbed it, pulled him in

-he hit his head in the fall, and when he woke up his coworker had questions

-they asked him what he was doing

-he described the woman and the elevator stuck between floors, saying he must have gotten hurt when he fell into the elevator

-his coworker had a different story

-no one saw him opening the doors, but an employee came up and saw him on his knees leaning into the elevator

-but he wasn’t leaning into an elevator stuck between floors, he was leaning into a completely empty elevator shaft

-he fell through the open doors, falling 2 stories

-the woman and elevator were never to be seen

-man who fell insists on his story, but I’m inclined to believe the witnesses who didn’t fall and hit their head

-however, makes you question how easily our senses can be fooled by malicious spirits
