What do some ratios have that helps simplify them?
A GCF (Greatest Common Factor).
What is the GCF?
The largest factor shared by both numbers in the ratio.
Why is the GCF useful?
It makes comparing ratios easier.
Example: Simplify 28/21
Divide both by GCF 7 → 4/3
What happens when you divide by the GCF?
There are no more common factors left.
What does a simplified ratio show?
The same relationship as the original ratio.
When is a ratio in simplest form?
When the only common factor left is 1.
