Role Reversal
Swap roles with someone else and see how their character is feeling and how you need to give them stuff to react to. This technique helps actors gain a deeper understanding of their characters' motivations and emotions by experiencing the role from a different perspective.
Thought Tracking
Freeze the scene occasionally and say what your character may be thinking in that moment but isn’t in the script. None of the actors can hear you. This technique allows actors to explore their characters' inner thoughts and motivations, adding depth to their performances.
Improvisation
A performance technique where actors create dialogue and action spontaneously, without a script. This fosters creativity and adaptability, allowing actors to respond authentically to unexpected situations.
Hot seating
A rehearsal technique where an actor, in character, answers questions from fellow actors or the director. This helps deepen the actor's understanding of their character's background, motivations, and relationships.
Antithesis
A person or thing that is the direct opposite of another person or thing.
