P Wave
Represents atrial depolarization (atrial contraction)
QRS Complex
Represents ventricular depolarization (ventricular contraction); atrial repolarization occurs during this phase but is not visible
T Wave
Represents ventricular repolarization (ventricular relaxation)
U Wave
Not always visible; represents repolarization of the Bundle of His and Purkinje fibers
PR Interval
Begins at the start of the P wave and ends at the start of the Q wave; measures the time from atrial depolarization to ventricular depolarization
QT Interval
Begins at the start of the Q wave and ends at the end of the T wave; measures the time from the start of ventricular depolarization to the end of ventricular repolarization
ST Segment
Begins at the end of the S wave and ends at the start of the T wave; measures the time from the end of ventricular depolarization to the beginning of ventricular repolarization
