A 3D shape flattened out.

Face
One flat side of a shape.

Surface Area
The space on ALL the outside faces, found by adding up every face.

Prism
A shape that has two matching ends, where the middle part is rectangles.

Pyramid
A shape that has 1 flat base, with other sides that are triangles meeting at one point on top.

Base
The "bottom" shape that tells you what KIND of prism or pyramid it is.

Lateral Face
The side faces of a shape, not including the base.

Edge
A straight line where two faces meet.

Rectangular Prism
A prism that has 6 faces coming in 3 matching pairs: Top & Bottom, Front & Back, and Left & Right.

Triangular Prism
A prism that has 5 faces: 2 triangle ends and 3 rectangle sides.

Square Pyramid
A pyramid that has 1 base and 4 triangle sides.
