to make up lilnes that are not in the script

Amateur

An unpaid actor preforming for the love of the art form

Apron

the edge of a proscenium stage in front of the guard cutrain but behind the orchestra pit

audition

The process by which potential performers read from a short prepared piece for the audition committee to help them decide the best person for a role.

Audition commitee

A team consisting of the director, musical director, and choreographer, which is responsible for casting a show

backdrop

A piece of material often painted to resemble a location which hangs at the back of the acting area.

When the stage lights all go out, designate the end of a scene.
