Eukaryotic
Organisms whose cells contain a nucleus enclosed within membranes.
Hyphae
Tiny strings in fungi made up of cells that contribute to the structure of mycelium.
Saprotrophic Nutrition
Saprotrophic nutrition is when organisms break down dead or decaying matter with enzymes and absorb the nutrients.
Plasmids
Small, circular, double-stranded DNA molecules found in bacteria.
Cellulose
Cellulose is a strong material in plants that helps keep their stems, leaves, and walls firm.
Unicellular
Organisms that consist of a single cell.
Multicellular
Organisms that consist of multiple cells.
Chitin
A structural polysaccharide that makes up the cell wall of fungi.
Fungi
Organisms that are eukaryotic, do not contain chloroplasts, and can be unicellular or multicellular.
Protoctists
A diverse group of simple, primarily unicellular organisms, which can be autotrophic or heterotrophic.
Animal examples
Organisms like mammals and legumes.
