chapter 1 scripture

= Then God said, "Let there be something to divide the water in two." So God made the air and placed some of the water above the air and some below it. God named the air "sky". Evening passed, and morning came. This was the second day. Then God said, "Let the water under the sky be gathered together so the dry land will appear." And it happened. God named the dry land "earth" and the water that was gathered together "seas". God saw that this was good. Then God said, "Let the earth produce plants - some to make grain for seeds and others to make fruits with seeds in them. Every seed will produce more of its own kind of plant." And it happened.

chapter 21 scripture

= Then God said, "Let there be lights in the sky to separate day from night. These lights will be used for signs, seasons, days, and years. They will be in the sky to give light to the earth." And it happened. So God made the two large lights. He made th brighter light to rule the day and made the smaller light to rule the night. He also made the stars. God put all these in the sky to shine on the earth, to rule over the day and over the night, and to separate the light from the darkness. God saw that all these things were good. Evening passed, and morning came. This was the fourth day.

chapter 22 scripture

= The sun has one kind of beauty, the moon has another beauty, and the stars have another. And each star is different in its beauty.

chapter 23 scripture

= The sun rises at one end of the sky and follows its path to the other end. Nothing hides from its heat.

chapter 2 scripture

= Lord, you have made many things; with your wisdom you made them all. The earth is full of your riches.

chapter 3 scripture

= A mountain washes away and crumbles; and a rock can be moved from its place.

chapter 8 scripture

= All things continue the way they have been since the beginning. What has happened will happen again; there is nothing new here on earth.

chapter 4 scripture

= The mountains rose; the valleys sank. The water went to the places you made for it.

chapter 5 scripture

= I looked at the mountains, and they were shaking. All the hills were trembling.

chapter 6 scripture

= He just looks at the earth, and it shakes. He touches the mountains, and they smoke.

chapter 9 scripture

= All streams flow into the sea, yet the sea is never full. To the place the streams come from, there they return again.

chapter 10 scripture

= He changed rivers into a desert and springs of water into dry ground.

chapter 15 scripture

= He gathered the water of the sea into a heap. He made the great ocean stay in its place.

chapter 16 scripture

chapter 17 scripture

= He wraps up the waters in his thick clouds, but the clouds do not break under their weight.

chapter 18 scripture

= He sent the east wind from heaven and led the south wind by his power.

= The clouds poured down their rain. The sky thundered. Your lightning flashed back and forth like arrows.
