Competition between countries for colonies, such as Africa and Asia. This caused tensions particularly between Britain, France, and Germany.
Nationalism
People’s pride for their country or ethnic group. Pan-Slavism movement is an example of this as it was a movement to unit the Slavic people and was supported by Serbia and Russia.
