What should happen before testing begins?

Verify prerequisites, system readiness, required personnel, calibrated test equipment, current procedure revision, safety conditions, communication method, and starting system configuration.

What should you record during testing?

Actual readings, timestamps, equipment status, commands, responses, alarms, unexpected behavior, and whether each step passed or failed.

What should you do if actual behavior does not match expected behavior?

Document the discrepancy objectively. Record what was commanded, what actually happened, relevant data, and the procedure step involved. Do not change the expected result afterward simply to make the test pass.

What is restoration?

Returning equipment and controls to the required normal operating configuration after testing. Always verify restoration rather than assuming it occurred.

When is a procedure truly complete?

When required steps are performed, results are documented, deficiencies are identified, evidence is attached as required, the system is restored, required parties sign off, and the final record accurately reflects what occurred.
