Stages of Healing

Lasts a few days; body is avoiding infection
Intervention focus = stabilize
Proliferation Phase
Lasts 2-6 wks; scar tissue forms
Focus = stabilize and cautiously grade movement/activity
Maturation Phase
Lasts a few months to years; wound remodels
Focus = getting back to normal
