Stono Rebellion
The most serious slave rebellion in the colonial period which occurred in 1739 in South Carolina. 100 African Americans rose up, got weapons, and killed several whites then tried to escape to S. Florida. The uprising was crushed and the participants were executed.
New France
French colony in North America, with a capital in Quebec, was founded 1608. New France fell to the British in 1763.

1st President of the United States; commander-in-chief of the Continental Army during the American Revolution (1732-1799)
French and Indian War
War was fought in the colonies between the English and the French (Indian allies on both sides) for possession of the Ohio Valley area. The English won.
William Pitt
A competent British leader, known as the "Great Commoner," managed to gain Iroquois support and was able to destroy New France and end the French and Indian War
