Cranium
The part of the skull that encloses the brain, consisting of 8 bones.
Facial Bones
The bones that form the structure of the face, consisting of 14 bones.
Frontal Bone
The bone that forms the forehead and the upper part of the eye sockets.
Occipital Bone
The bone that forms the back and base of the skull.
Temporal Bone
The bone located on the sides and base of the skull, containing the structures of the ears.
Parietal Bone
The paired bones that form the sides and roof of the skull.
Sphenoid Bone
A bat-shaped bone at the base of the skull, articulating with many other bones.
Ethmoid Bone
A delicate bone located between the eye sockets, forming part of the nasal cavity.
Maxilla
The upper jawbone that also forms part of the nasal cavity and the floor of the eye sockets.
Mandible
The lower jawbone, the largest and strongest bone of the face.
Zygomatic Bone
The bone that forms the cheek and part of the orbit.
Nasal Bone
The two small bones that form the bridge of the nose.
Lacrimal Bone
The small, thin bone forming part of the inner wall of the orbit.
TMJ (Temporomandibular Joint)
The joint connecting the jawbone to the skull, allowing for jaw movement.
Paranasal Sinuses
Air-filled spaces within the bones of the skull that are connected to the nasal cavity.
Frontal Sinuses
The paired cavities located in the frontal bone, above the eyebrows.
Maxillary Sinuses
The largest of the paranasal sinuses, located in the maxilla.
Ethmoid Sinuses
A group of small cavities located within the ethmoid bone.
Sphenoid Sinus
A sinus located within the sphenoid bone, beneath the sella turcica.
Osteomeatal Complex
The area of the nasal cavity where the sinus openings connect, important for drainage.
