What is salmonella?

A type of bacteria that causes food poisoning

What are the symptoms of salmonella

Fever, stomach cramps, vomiting and diarrhoea

What are these symptoms caused by

Toxins that the bacteria produce

How can you get salmonella food poinsoning

-by eating food that's been contaminated with salmonella bacteria

-e.g eating chicken that caught the disease when it was alive

-or eating food that has been prepared in unhygienic conditions

In the UK how is the spread of salmonella trying to be controlled

most poultry e.g chickens & turkeys is given a vaccination against salmonella

What is gonorrhea?

sexually transmitted disease

What is gonorrhea caused by

pain when urinating, thick yellow or green discharge from vagina or penis

How was gonorrhea originally treated

-with an antibiotic called penicillin

Why has treating gonorrhea become so difficult
