Republic Act No. 9163
Also known as the National Service Training Program Act of 2001, an act establishing the National Service Training Program (NSTP) for tertiary level students.

National Service Training Program (NSTP)
A two-semester program required for eligible tertiary students aimed at enhancing civic consciousness and defense preparedness by developing ethics of service and patriotism.
Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC)
An NSTP component focused on national defense, military preparedness, leadership, discipline, and military education.
Literacy Training Service (LTS)
An NSTP component focused on education, including teaching children, adult literacy, tutorial programs, and reading campaigns.
Civic Welfare Training Service (CWTS)
An NSTP component focused on community welfare, including environmental protection, health education, disaster preparedness, livelihood projects, community organizing, gender and development, peace education, and volunteerism.
Commonwealth Act No. 1
Also known as the National Defense Act, an early Philippine law that emphasized military training prior to the enactment of RA 9163.

Commission on Higher Education (CHED), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), and Department of National Defense (DND).
