What is cervical spine flexion?
Bending forward, such as touching your toes.
What movement does lateral flexion of the spine involve?
Bending the spine to the side, right or left.
What is the expected range of motion for the cervical spine?
Full range of motion including forward flexion, hyperextension, lateral bending, and full rotation.
What does it mean when there's a lack of motion in the neck?
It indicates an unexpected finding that may require further investigation.
What is the primary movement of the temporomandibular joint (TMJ)?
Open and close the jaw.
What is the expected result when testing shoulder flexion?
The arm should raise forward and up without difficulty.
Define internal rotation of the arm.
Rotating the arm inward, with the thumb facing towards the abdomen.
What is circumduction?
A circular motion involving a joint.
What is the expected range of motion for the elbow during flexion?
Bending the elbow to bring the forearm towards the upper arm.
What movement describes the action of bending the thumb toward the palm?
Thumb flexion.
How do you describe ankle dorsiflexion?
Moving the foot upward toward the shin.
What is expected of all extremities during a range of motion assessment?
Full range of motion intact without clicking, locking, or gross abnormalities.
