What are the atom models in order by inventor?
Dalton, Thomson, Rutherford, Bhor, Schrodinger
What was Dalton’s model?
Tiny balls. Established atoms as basic unit of matter but didnt recognize smaller particles inside atoms.
What was Thompson’s model?
Chocolate shaped cookie with the whole thing being positive and there being tiny electrons in it. Now spheres were made out of smaller things but theres no nucleus, electron cloud, and did not find neutrons.
What was the Rutherford model?
Common seen atom model. Nucleus and spinning electrons. He found this by using the gold foil experiment. Found the nucleus but believed the nucleus was only positive and though the electrons were not in order.
What was the Bhor model?
Solar system looking. Atoms flew in orbit. Identified energy levels and that the nucleus was the heaviest. Electrons did not orbit perfectly though and could leave our reality.
What was the Schrodinger model?
Had an electron cloud. Identified electron cloud sub-levels and that electrons pop in and out of this reality. We have never seen and electron in person bc its so fast and tiny though.
What did Chadwick do?
Discovered the Neutron.
How do u find neutrons?
Subtract atomic mass by protons.
What is a cation?
Positively charged ion
What is a anion?
Negatively charged ion
How do u count energy levels?
From nucleus.
How do u write ionic configuration?
Like element but do the element for the new amount of electrons it has.
