Any activity or group of activities that takes one or more inputs, transforms them, nad provides one or more outputs for its customers

Ex: Inputs: Lemon and Sugar —> Outputs: Lemonade

What is Operation Management?

The management of processes used to design, supply, produce, and deliver goods and services

Qualitites of a Manufacturing process?

Tangible, can be inventoried, little customer time, quality easily measured, material is transformed

Qualities of a Service Process?

Intangible, cannot be inventoried, extensive customer time, quality harder to assess, information or customer is transformed

What is Supply chain?

The integration of operations across multiple firms, from raw material suppliers through customers
