Functions of the cardiovascular system
The Cardiovascular System (A.K.A The Circulatory System) is made up of the heart, blood and blood vessels.
Cardio - vascular
▪ Cardio – Heart.
▪ Vascular – Blood vessels.
There are 5 functions of the Cardiovascular System. They are:
Circulates blood to all parts of the body.
Transportation of water, oxygen, and nutrients.
Removes waste—including carbon dioxide
Fights disease
Regulates body temp.
What four chambers are there in the heart?
Two upper chambers – the atria
Two lower chambers – the ventricles
