Arrhythmias
MI
Heart failure
Hypovolemic shock cause
fluid volume loss
Hypovolemic shock manifestations
decreased CVP; decreased CO; increased SVR
Distributive shock cause
massive vasodilation
Distributive shock manifestations
decreased CVP; increased CO; decreased SVR
Obstructive shock cause
Blood flow obstruction
Obstructive shock manifestations
increased CVP; decreased CO; increased SVR
Cardiogenic shock cause
Pump failure
Cardiogenic shock manifestations
Increased CVP; decreased CO; increased SVR
CVP
central venous pressure
the blood pressure in the main vein leading into the heart's right atrium. It essentially measures how much blood is returning to the heart and how well the right side of the heart can pump that blood out.
CO
cardiac output
the total amount that the heart pumps out in a minute
SVR
systemic vascular resistance
the force that the heart must overcome to pump blood through the systemic circulation
