Proteins; used to separate proteins; used to determine the identity, size, and abundance of specific proteins within a sample; protein specific antibodies are used for detection

South-Western Blot

used to study the interaction of DNA with DNA-binding proteins such as proteins that regulate transcription

Fluorescence *in situ* hybridization (FISH)

a molecular technique that uses fluorescent probes which bind to parts of a nucleic acid sequence; often used for finding specific features in a DNA sequence, but not a protein

Karyotyping

a molecular technique used to view metaphase chromosomes, not proteins
