Continuity Equation
A principle stating that if the cross-sectional area of a tube is increasing, the speed of a subsonic, incompressible flow inside the tube is decreasing.
Aerodynamic Drag
The force on a body placed in an airstream which depends, among other factors, on the airstream velocity.
Subsonic, Incompressible Flow
Flow conditions where velocity and cross-sectional area are inversely related within a tube based on the continuity equation.
Airstream Velocity
The specific factor mentioned in the notes that aerodynamic drag of a body depends on.
Cross-sectional Area
A dimension of a tube that, when increased, results in a decrease in flow speed for subsonic, incompressible flows.
Specific Mass of the Body
A factor that the aerodynamic drag of a body placed in an airstream does not depend on.
Weight of the Body
A characteristic of a body that is not a factor determining its aerodynamic drag in a certain airstream.
