What is a synapse
The gap between 2 neurones
Synapse

What’s the process that happens during synaptic transmission
electrical impulse stimulates the release of neurotransmitters from the pre synaptic neurone
Vesicles release the neurotransmitters and they diffuse across the synapse
The neurotransmitters bind to the receptors on the post synaptic neurone
If after summation there is a positive charge then the electrical impulse will continue but if there is an overall negative charge then it will be inhibited
How do neurotransmitters bind to receptors
In a lock and key fashion
What i summation
When the charge in the post synaptic neurone are added up and if its positive the impulse continues and if its negative the impulse is inhibited
