Sacrament of the Sick

A sacrament that prepares an individual to endure suffering, as Christ endured his. It also serves as an action of faith, to remind the dying that the ultimate redemption (being with Christ) will be fulfilled at their time of death.

They may attend, but they can only participate in the Holy Communion by receiving a blessing from the Priest.

Pope

head of the Roman Catholic Church and Bishop of Rome, Leader of the Roman Catholic Church (Universal)

Cardinal

Dignity conferred upon Bishops or Priests making them princes of the Church, assists the Pope, elects the Pope, may be head of Archdiocese

Bishop

Head of the territorial unit of the Church, head of a local diocese

Priest

Ordained to carry out the works of the Church, subordinate to the Bishop. Addressed as “Father”. Local Parish, may be given the title of Monsignor, an honorary title conferred upon a priest meaning “My Lord”
