for control of North America east of Mississippi River, British dominant in 1754 but they try to take French power, so French ally with Natives to fight against them, results in Britain getting all of east North America, France’s financial crisis that leads to the French Revolution, a bond between Native Americans, the end of Quaker power, a bond between colonies and increased British pride, Britain also has financial crisis that leads to imperial efforts to increase revenue in colonies
pontiac’s war
Natives from Ohio + the Great Lakes attack the British under Ottawa leader Pontiac’s beliefs and teachings, attacked frontiers, forts, and British people

British soldiers vs Boston mob, 5 dead 6 wounded, escalated because of anger over British occupation, no one ends up in jail because of John Adams, British move from Boston to Castle Island

sons of liberty dress up as Natives and dump tea into Boston Harbor, massive financial loss to Britain
battle of bunker hill
British get rid of colonial militia stationed at Broad’s Hill, they’re experiencing political struggles also, British don’t want colonists building cannons, war leads to lots of British casualties but British “win”
battles of lexington + concord
british march to concord to seize arms, stop in lexington to try and capture colonial leaders, they’re met by colonial militia in lexington where 8 locals are killed and 1 British soldier is wounded, also fought in Concord, but when they came back through Lexington to go back Lexington militia gets their revenge
battle of saratoga
British commander abandons John Burgoyne in NY to go to Philadelphia, colonists catch onto Burgoyne’s plans and take him and his army down, which leads France to align with the colonists because it showed that they’re capable
battle of yorktown
Ends Revolutionary War, rebels have help from French (more French than rebels fought) to beat the British in Virginia
battle of trenton
Washington’s army failing and demotivated, attacked British soldiers in Trenton to restore motivation, and then in Princeton a couple days later
