similar to references, but occur in the body of the text

Reference Citations (Definition)

found at the end of the paper. all references used even the in-text citations are included

Narrative Citation (Format + Example)

Format: Author (Date) Example: Noguera (2023)

Parenthetical Citation (Format + Example)

Format: (Author, Date) Example: (Noguera, 2023)

In-text Citations: Direct Quotation (Format + Example)

Format: Source/Author (Date) said that “idea/direct quote” (page number) Example: Dangaran (2023) said “Malayans are nice” (p. 7)

In-text Citations (If in two pages)

Example: Dangaran (2023) said that “Malayans are nice” **(pp. 7-8)**

In-text Citations (If more than four lines)

Format to be Used: indent 1.5 inch, period before page number

In-text Citations (If something like grammar is wrong)

use **[sic]** and must be *italicized* Example: Dangaran (2023) said that “Malayans is *[sic]* nice” (p. 7)

In-text Citations: Paraphrased Ver. (Example)

do not indicate page number and no need for quotation marks Example: Shih (2023) said that Malayans are nice

In-text Citations (If two people agree on one topic but in different years)

should be alphabetically arranged Example: Shih (2023) and Zaragoza (2022) said that…/Malayans are nice (Shih, 2023; Zaragoza, 2022)

In-text Citations (If same author, same argument, different years)

In-text Citations (If the author cited another author)

In-text Citations (If there are multiple authors)

arranged by contribution not alphabetically Example: Sy et al. (2023) said that…

In-text Citations (If different authors, years, and publication but same last name)

In-text Citations (If same author has two publications in the same year)

(in the reference page) should be alphabetically arranged by title, use small letters “a, b, c” Example: Noguera (2022a, 2022b) said that…

In-text Citations (If it’s written by an organization)
