Shape

VISUAL LANGUAGE HIERARCHY this refers to the use of different objects or shapes on a chart

Visual Language Hierarchy in order of processing

Correlation

Statistic that aims to measure the strength of the relationship between two variables. It takes two columns of data, and returns a coefficient, which has a value between 1 and -1

Slicer

A selection panel that floats above a worksheet that FILTERS the data viewable on the screen.

Table

(PowerBI) displays a grid of data arranged in a series of columns

Matrix

Similar to a table, but allows us to add data in rows and columns.

To create, we need to specify the row headings, the column headings, and the field that will be measured for each combination of these headings.

Able to add hierarchys for drill down options.

Ribbon Chart

Stacked column chart where each column is connected by a series of ribbons.

Useful when we want to track the growth of a field over time, as well as tracking ranking within that field.

Interactions

When selecting a part of a visual, it highlights related information on other visuals on the page.
