crossing the Rubicon River and beginning a Civil War, "veni, vidi, vici" (I came, I saw, I conquered), the Ides of March, marking his assassination in Rome by various senators, "I would rather be first in a village than second in Rome"

headstrong, ambitious, getting through obstacles by destroying them, well liked by his soldiers because he treated them as friends even though he was in charge of them
Caesar and Cleopatra
political union; not romantic union. Cleopatra wanted the throne of Egypt and Caesar wanted to bring Egypt under his domain so he made her a "puppet queen". after their affair, she showed up in Rome (allegedly pregnant with his child) and Caesar gave her the rights of a Roman woman. Caesar was married at least four times and had multiple affairs.
