Cleopatra wanted the throne of Egypt and Caesar wanted to bring Egypt under his domain so he made her a "puppet queen". after their affair, she showed up in Rome (allegedly pregnant with his child) and Caesar gave her the rights of a Roman woman. Caesar was married at least four times and had multiple affairs.
