Reciprocals
Values obtained by flipping the ratio of trigonometric functions.
Hypotenuse
The longest side of a right triangle, opposite the right angle.
sin(θ)
The ratio of the length of the opposite side to the length of the hypotenuse.
csc(θ)
The cosecant of θ, equal to 1/sin(θ).
cos(θ)
The ratio of the length of the adjacent side to the length of the hypotenuse.
sec(θ)
The secant of θ, equal to 1/cos(θ).
tan(θ)
The ratio of the length of the opposite side to the length of the adjacent side.
cot(θ)
The cotangent of θ, equal to 1/tan(θ).
Unit Circle
A circle with a radius of 1, centered at the origin of a coordinate system, used to define trigonometric functions.
CSC(θ) at specific angles
Values of cosecant (1/sin) for particular angles such as π/4, π/2, etc.
cot(π/4)
The cotangent of π/4, which equals 1.
sin(π/6)
The sine of π/6, equal to 1/2.
sec(θ) at specific angles
Values of secant (1/cos) for specific angles in the unit circle.
