The Abbasid Caliphate was the third major Islamic Caliphate. It was ruled by Abbasid dynasty, which descended from Muhammads uncle. The empire lasted from 750 CE when it overthrew the Umayad Caliphate, until 1258 CE, when the Mongols sacked Baghdad.

Delhi Sultanate
An Islamic empire based in Delhi that stretched across large parts of the Indian subcontinent for 320 years from 1206 to 1562 AD. It was ruled sequentially by five distinct dynasties before being replaced by the Mughal Empire.

Vijayanagara Empire
A powerful South Indian empire based in the Deccan. Founded in 1336 by the brothers Harihara and Bakka Raya, It grew into power before declining after it’s defeat at the battle of Talikota in 1565.
Khemer Empire
Powerful State in Southeast Asia that lasted from 802 to 1431 AD. Centered in Modern day Cambodia, it ruled large parts of Southeast Asia and built the famous temple complex of Angkor Wat
