ABOUT THE TITLEI started writing this book (first in my mind) when Monty Python was filming the The Life of Brian. I had no idea, as it was only shown here in Hungary more than ten years later, and I was not one of the well-informed few, I didn't even speak English. Yet I noticed the same thing as the Big Team: how many ridiculous contradictions there are in the Bible and in the respect for it. At first - when I still considered myself a Christian - I laughed at the fact that the Son of God needs a photo ID (see Shroud of Turin), since so many fake IDs had saved lives, and this one didn't.
And then came the famous Lieutenant Colombo's move: who heard Jesus praying in the courtyard of the caravanserai when all the possible witnesses were asleep, and who saw him wake them three times when there was only deaf silence and darkness present? Of course, the donkeys may have been braying, and many dogs were barking. This is where the pilgrimage began that I didn't even have to step out the front door of the apartment.
Anyone who doesn't like it, let them have it.
