Solid.
Ketones upto 11 carbons (Physical state)
Colourless liquid while above it are all solid.
Lower aldehydes (Odoor/smell)
Pungent smell and the smell decrease with increase in size.
Lower ketones (Odoor/smell)
Pleasant smelling liquids.
Saturated aldehydes and ketones (Usage)
Used as Synthetic Perfumes.
Naturally occuring aldehydes and ketones (Usage)
Used as perfume flavouring agen.
Solubility of Aldehyde and ketones upto 4 carbons
Soluble in water due to formation of H-bond.
