if a object is a good absorber it has to be a good

emitter

all objects emit electromagnetic radiation because of

energy in their thermal stores

intensity is power per unit area what does this mean

the amount of energy transferred to a given area in a certain amount of time

as temp increases the

intensity of every emitted wavelength increases

intensity increases more rapidly for shorter wavelengths than for

longer ones

this rapid increase to shorter wavelength intensity causes

peak wavelength decrease

peak wavelength is

the wavelength with the highest intensity
