create a highlight
I cerate a highlight during my jumping travel sequence across the stage to emphasise the speed at which wildfires and toxic gases are spreading.
create a motif
At the beginning of the dance I create a motif in the hand circling and reach towards the audience to show the original properties of coal being soft and crumbly
create a contrast
When I transition into the 2nd section of my dance I perform a stag jump into a roll on the floor to create contrast and emphasise the transition from being soft and crumbly, into substance that gathers heat energy to cause wildfires and toxic gases.
repetition
At the end of my dance I repeat my opening motif where I circle my hands and reach towards the audience to evoke the feeling of exhaustion and disappointment in not being able to return to the beginning properties.Â
choreographic intention
The intention of my dance was how the properties of coal progress to become a devastating fossil fuel.
