Encoding
process by which a message is translated so it can be transmitted and communicated to another party.
Turow (2009)

Transmitting
The act of sending the message.
Channels
Technologies that enable the act of sending or transmitting. i.e. telephone, tv, radio, print media.
Decoding
The transmitted impulses are converted to signs as the brain perceives and processes them. Reverse of encoding.
Process by which the receiver translates the source’s thoughts and ideas, so they can have meaning.
Receiver
The one who gets the message that was transmitted through the channels. Can be an individual or an organization.
Feedback
the response generated by the mesage that was sent to the receiver. Either immediate or delayed
Noise Interference
there are elements that interfere in the transmittal process. May be treated literally and figuratively.
