Vector
An animal which transmits disease from a disease-causing organism to the victim of another person.
Mosquito Control Methods
Methods including cleaning bushes around houses, draining swamps, sleeping in rooms protected by mosquito nets, spraying rooms with insecticides, spraying oil on stagnant water, biological control, burying broken pots and cans, using antimalarial drugs, using insect repellent on the body, and educating the public.
Housefly Control Methods
Methods including covering food, closing pit toilets, using poison baits, keeping the environment clean, and spraying with insecticides.
Black Fly Control Methods
Methods including enlightening the public, destroying breeding materials, cleaning bushes around houses, fumigation, proper monitoring of water bodies, and using dat drugs.
Public Health Maintenance
Combining the effort of individuals (personal hygiene), households, communities, nations, and the world as a whole to maintain public health.
Refuse
Solid waste material discharged through human activities from homes and industries into the environment.
Refuse Disposal Methods
Methods including provision of dust bins, burning refuse in Im Concretors, dumping in isolated areas far from habitation, burning refuse, and sanitary land fill.
Sewage
Liquid waste such as faeces (shit), urine, and waste from animals, industries, or domestic sources that are dissolved in water.
Septic Tanks
A sewage disposal method where water is used to flush shite and wastewater into a big tank dug in the ground.
Community Sewage Treatment Process
A process where sewage collected from various homes is treated before being discharged into oceans and rivers.
Conversion of Sewage to Organic Manure
A method of sewage disposal that converts liquid waste into organic manure.
