Sensorimotor stage (birth-2 years)

Infants start to understand world with their senses and motor activities- use trial and error to investigate everything

Preoperational stage (2 - 7 years)

Children can create mental images of things to store in their minds, exhibit centration, animism, and egocentrism

Concrete operational stage (7 -11/12 years)

Children a quire concept of conservation, can understand reversibility, and develop concrete thinking

Formal operational stage (11/12 - beyond)

Develop hypothetic-deductive thinking, understand abstract thinking, and can apply logical thought to abstract and hypothetical situations
