Dehydration

An abnormal depletion of body fluids

Metabolic

Of, relating to, or based on the chemical changes in living cells by which energy is provided for vital processes and activities and new material is assimilated

Oxidation

The act or process of combining with oxygen, this process is often used as substrates are broken into smaller components through the addition of oxygen and water is often produced

Respiration

1. Breathing; ventilating; the oxidative process occurring within living cells by which the chemical energy of organic molecules is released in a series of metabolic steps involving the consumption of oxygen and the liberation of carbon dioxide and water (American Heritage Dictionary definition)

2. The placing of air or dissolved gases in intimate contact with the circulating medium of a multicellular organism (as by breathing)

Specific Heat

The heat in calories required to raise the temperature of one gram of a substance one degree Celsius

Toxic

Poisonous; having the properties or effects of poison
