Interface Design
Defines how the system will interact with external entities (e.g., customers, users, other systems)
Navigation mechanism
The way in which the user gives instructions to the system (e.g., buttons, menus).
Input mechanism
The way in which the system captures information (e.g., forms for adding new customers).
Output mechanism
The way in which the system provides information to the user (e.g., reports).
Use Scenario
An outline of the steps that users perform to accomplish something.
Navigation Diagrams
Shows the relationship between all screens, forms, and reports used by the system, and how the user moves from one to another.
UI Standards Design
Basic design elements found across the system user interface, including interface metaphor and interface template.
UI Prototype Design
Mock-ups or simulations of different UIs. Common approaches include Storyboard, HTML prototype, and Language prototype.
Principles of UI Design
Layout, Content Awareness, Aesthetics, Consistency, Minimal User Effort, and Usability.
Usability
Ensuring that the system is easy and effective to use and learn from the user’s perspective.
UI Design Process
UI design process in OO is a use case driven, incremental and iterative process
