skeletal muscle fiber is thin and cylindrical, striated, long and narrow,
How does Skeletal muscle move?
It moves under voluntary control, attached to connective tissue, contracts from the muscle across the joint and onto the bone
What is a tendon?
Fibrous connective tissue that connects muscle to bone
Characteristic of Smooth muscle
No striations, slower to contract and relax
Where can smooth muscle be found?
Digestive tract, in the walls of arteries respiratory tract, urinary tract, and reproductive tract.
Cardiac muscle
Contracts rhythmically and automatically in the heart to pump blood through heart chambers.
Examples of diseases in muscle tissue?
Muscle dystrophy, myasthenia gravis, ripped rotator cuff.
