2. To increase economy and industry by developing both heavy and light industry
3. Encourages people from urban cities to rural areas to work
4. Aimed to implement collective farming

What actions did Mao do that ended badly?

1. Increased pressure in boilers in machine -→ lead to explosion
2. Backyard steel campaign -→ people ran out of supplies to farm and were too busy making steel to work in fields
3. Food was not rationed -→ Lead to huge famine
4. Made too much steel -→ ran out of coal to transport them
