Present Simple Tense
A verb tense that describes habitual actions, states facts or general truths, and indicates scheduled events.
Affirmative Form
The structure used to express positive statements in the present simple tense (Subject + base form of the verb).
Negative Form
The structure used to express negative statements in the present simple tense (Subject + do/does not + base form of the verb).
Interrogative Form
The structure used to ask questions in the present simple tense (Do/Does + subject + base form of the verb?).
Habitual Actions
Actions that are performed regularly, such as "I go to the gym every day."
General Truths
Statements that are universally accepted as true, like "Water boils at 100 degrees Celsius."
Scheduled Events
Events that are planned or set to occur at a specific time, for example, "The train leaves at 6 PM."
Common Time Adverbs
Adverbs frequently used with the present simple tense, including always, usually, often, sometimes, rarely, and never.
Specific Time References
Phrases that indicate frequency, such as "every day," "on Mondays," and "once a week."
Singular vs
The distinction in subject-verb agreement where He/She/It takes the base form + "s/es" and I/You/We/They take the base form.
Irregular Verbs
Verbs that do not follow the regular conjugation pattern in the present simple tense, such as "He has a car."
Spelling Changes
Modifications in spelling that occur when forming the present simple tense, like "study" changing to "studies."
