Opportunity sampling

Random sampling
everyone from target population has an equal chance of being chosen (use random name generator)
Stratefied sampling
collect sample to represent the categories in the target population + use random sampling for the categories
Volunteer sampling
people from target population put themselves forward for the study

-: shared characterstics e.g employment, being a student so the sample is not diverse which hinders generalisability
