Phase V (Black Phase)

The AIT phase covering Weeks 1–3, where Soldiers become eligible to phase up after completing Academic Week 3.

Requires carrying a CamelBak; any alternate must be approved military-issued hydration with a signed ETP.

Phase VI+ / VI++ Personal Water Source Privilege

Privilege allowing Phase VI+ and Phase VI++ Soldiers to carry a civilian-approved personal water source.

MOS-I TV/Monitor Size Limit

Maximum allowed size of 24 inches or smaller, which must fit in a wall locker when stored.

Phase V Non-Duty-Day Formations

Required non-duty-day formations scheduled at 0800, 1200, 1500, and 1900.

Phase VI Non-Duty-Day Formations

Required non-duty-day formations scheduled at 0800 and 1500.

DS / Instructor Temporary Suspension Authority

Authority granted to Drill Sergeants or instructors to temporarily suspend phase privileges for up to 72 hours.

Senior Drill Sergeant Temporary Suspension Authority

Authority granted to Senior Drill Sergeants to temporarily suspend phase privileges for up to 7 days.

Company Command Team Temporary Suspension Authority

Authority granted to Company Command Teams to temporarily suspend phase privileges for up to 14 days.

Permanent Phase V Reduction Condition

Reduction resulting from three documented temporary phase suspensions.

New-Arrival Amnesty Period

A one-hour timeframe for new arrivals to dispose of prohibited items or send them home.

Phase VI++ Mixed-Sex Battle Buddy Rule

Rule authorizing a 1:1 mixed-sex battle buddy pair on- or off-post.

MOS-I Formation Movement Rule (3+ Soldiers)

Requirement for 3 or more MOS-I Soldiers traveling together to march in formation with the senior Soldier calling cadence.

MOS-I Cadre Escort Movement Rule (10+ Soldiers)
