How do tricyclic antidepressants work?
They reduce depression by affecting neurotransmitter (NT) reuptake mechanisms.
Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors (SSRIs)
A class of antidepressant drugs that act only on serotonin and include medications such as fluoxetine (Prozac) and sertraline (Zoloft).
Ketamine-based drugs
Drugs that increase glutamate activity in the brain and may quickly alleviate depression, often used in combination with other drugs.
